St Pius X Parish Mission Statement
Our Baptism calls us to be the presence of Jesus in our troubled world, making our Parish and Partnership, a community of welcome for all people; encouraging us to share and use our gifts so that everyone finds a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Together, with our parish and partnership parishes, we strive to live the Gospel message of faith, hope and love.
‘I have come that you may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10)
Welcome to the Templeogue Parish of St Pius X
Message from Fr Pat
Since its foundation in 1960, St Pius X Parish has been a vibrant Catholic Community supported, enlivened and enriched by so many people, of all generations, who have and continue to minister, work and volunteer in varied ministries and who are thoroughly welcoming of new members.
At the request of Archbishop Farrell, I was asked to take responsibility for our neighbouring parish of St Judes Willington effective from 2nd September 2024 and this will now be a permanent working together for both parishes. Such changes are happening in parishes all over the diocese as we discern new ways to be church together and endeavour to continue to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our working as parish partnerships over the last couple of years is a good stepping stone to a hope filled future for our parishes and diocese.
Our two parishes will remain two distinct parishes. However, I ask everyone for a change in mindset: one which sees our parishes as ONE parish with TWO churches, where all of us work together to provide for the sacramental and spiritual needs of all parishioners. I ask for your prayer, support and practical co-operation as we continue our mission together.
Thank you to all parish staff, ministers, volunteers, schools and to all donors. If you are new to the parish or area, we invite you to become part of our community and so enrich our shared Catholic faith, spirit, singing, celebration, expression and outreach.
Our diocesan family also continues to prepare for the future with the Archbishop’s pastoral letter ‘Building Hope with Open Hearts’ as he encourages us to build for the future with greater cooperation among our wider partnership of parishes (Terenure, Willington, Kimmage Manor and Greenhills).
I pray we will be blessed by each other’s faith, hope and love as we continue to strive to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Fr Pat
