Child Safeguarding and Protection
The Archdiocese of Dublin and the Parish of St Pius X value and encourage children and young people to play an active part in our parish liturgies and parish activities to grow and support a vibrant parish community into the future.
We recognise the dignity and rights of all children and young people and are committed to ensuring their safety and well-being while being involved in the life of the Church in our parish. Accordingly, everyone including clergy, religious, staff and volunteers has a responsibility to safeguard children through promoting their welfare, health and development in a safe and caring environment that supports their best interests and prevents abuse.
- All adults including clergy, religious, staff and volunteers are obliged to attend a Diocesan Safeguarding Information training session every three years.
- All volunteers in our parish ministries/groups are required to complete an Adult Volunteer form and a Code of Conduct form.
- All children under 12 participating in any church ministries/groups will require a Parent/Guardian and Child Joint consent form to be completed.
- All children over 12 participating in any church ministries/groups will require a Parent/Guardian and Young Person/Child Joint consent form to be completed.

Our Parish Safeguarding Representatives
Each parish is required to appoint at least one Safeguarding Representative who is responsible for the promotion of best practice and compliance with the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy at parish level. All Safeguarding Representatives are provided with training for this role. The Safeguarding Representatives in St Pius X Church are as follows:
