All parishes are required to have a Parish Finance Committee to work with the Parish Priest, in an advisory capacity, on financial matters, overseeing the financial and property aspects of the parish including monitoring the monthly income and expenditure, liability requirements and  the preparation and presentation of the annual audit statement.  We are very fortunate to have a committed Finance Committee, the current members are listed on the link here FINANCE COMMITTEE.

Equally and very importantly, our parish can only function with the continued financial support of our parishioners – through the Planned Family Giving, Donations and Maintenance Outdoor Collection.

PARISH INCOME
Parish Family Planned-Giving
The Parish Family Planned Giving is the most important source of income needed to run the parish, paying all the normal bills, heating, electricity, taxes, office, insurance, staff, supplies, repairs etc. In recent years, the number of people contributing to the Parish Family Planned Giving has declined and the income to the Parish has reduced.

We are very grateful to parishioners who do contribute so generously and we appeal to all who can afford to and who do not currently contribute and those who may be newer to the parish to please consider doing so.

We are most grateful to receive contributions in any form, with preference for Standing Orders as they are time and office-work efficient, reducing the administration work in the parish office. You can also make donations to the Parish Family Planned Giving through the DONATE button on the Parish website. Alternatively, you have the option to receive the weekly envelopes.

Monthly Church Maintenance Collection
The monthly outdoor church maintenance collection enables good maintenance and enhancing work to be completed in the parish. Donations to this fund support essential maintenance work, such as repairs, electric upgrades, landscaping, painting, and other planned and unforeseen work as it arises.

Shrines and Parish Shop
Donations to Shrines facilitate the upkeep of the shrines and together with shop revenue go towards parish income.

DIOCESAN COLLECTIONS

First Collection at Mass
The 1st Collection at Mass supports the priests of the Diocese including the sick and retired priests of the Diocese, and those in need of nursing home care. The contributions to this collection go directly to the Diocesan Common Fund from which all priests receive a monthly allowance. Christmas, Easter and Summer Dues also go directly into this fund.

Second Collection at Mass
The 2nd collection at Mass is the Share Collection. Share was set up in the 1970s to provide funding to meet the needs of new and developing parishes. In more recent years Share has been used to support Diocesan Services and parish supports and to provide financial assistance to low-income parishes.
On a number of Sundays throughout the year the Share Collection is replaced by special collections (such as Mission Sunday, Peter’s Pence, Lay Ministry, Accord etc). Parishioners are notified of these collections as they take place and contributions go directly to the specified fund.

Diocesan Card Machines
We also have two Diocesan  Card Machines at the main entrances of the church.
These machines can be used by parishioners to make donations to the Diocesan 1st and 2nd Collections only.
Donations received through these machines are split 60% 1st Collection and 40% 2nd Collection.

Christmas / Easter / Summer Dues
All Dues Offerings go directly to the Diocesan Common Fund from which all priests receive a monthly allowance.

Tax Effective Giving Relief
Under the Finance Act, there is a hugely important source of Income to the Parish namely the Tax relief scheme on donations to the Parish. Through this scheme, if you are a taxpayer and you donate more than €250 in a calendar year, by completing a CHY 3 Form, the Parish can reclaim from Revenue the PAYE tax you already paid on your donation. This increases the value of your total combined offerings to all Parish and Dues offerings by 45%. This is one of the most effective ways you can help the Parish. If you have paid Income Tax in the last calendar year and are agreeable to the Parish reclaiming the tax for the benefit of the Parish, we ask that you contact the Parish office, request and fill out the simple form and return it to the parish office, as soon as possible.
