If you are new to the parish, we would like to warmly welcome you and look forward to meeting you soon.
St Pius X parish is a vibrant parish community and there are many ways in which you can become part of the community and get to know your neighbours and parishioners which will enrich both your lives and our parish community.
Please do pop into the office to introduce yourself and register as new parishioners with us.
In the meantime, you may be interested in finding out a little bit more about some of the liturgical celebrations and groups in the parish.
Celebration of Mass
We invite you to participate in whatever way you can in our Sunday celebration of Mass and in other ceremonies and celebrations in our church.
Our parish church is open daily to all, for Sunday and weekday Masses, for other celebrations and for private prayer.
Perhaps you would like to visit our church for a quiet prayer … or to light a candle in thanksgiving or a petition… or to sit for a peaceful and quiet moment in the presence of the Lord, away from the busyness of life. Whatever the reason, you are very welcome to visit our church at any time.
Music Ministry Groups
We invite you to take part in our Music Ministry Groups!
We have two adult choirs in St Pius X church who welcome new members at any time.
St Pius X Adult Church Choir sings hymns and songs each week at the 11.30am Sunday morning mass.
St Pius X Adult Folk Group sings hymns and songs at the 7pm Saturday Vigil mass every second week.
St Pius X Children’s Choir sings hymns and songs at the monthly Family mass and also at the 7pm Saturday Vigil mass every second week. If you have children under the age of 12, we invite them to join the Children’s Choir.
Voluntary Ministry/Groups
We invite you to take part in one or more of our Voluntary Ministry/Groups!
Volunteers are essential to the success and life of our parish. Without doubt, parishioners who do participate in voluntary ministries find these ministries exceptionally rewarding and valued. Many lifelong friendships are developed through these shared ministries.
Volunteers can partake in trained religious ministries such as Minister of the Eucharist, Minister of the Word (reader) or the Funeral Ministry Team or simply parish community based groups such as our Welcome team, Hospitality team, Church Cleaning team or Gardening group.

Hospitality
We invite you to come along and meet your community!
We have various opportunities for you to come along and get to know your neighbours and parishioners:
Weekly tea/coffee morning every Thursday after 10am morning mass
Monthly tea/coffee after each of the weekend Masses (7pm Vigil mass on Saturday and 11.30am Sunday mass). This get together takes place on the 3rd weekend of every month.
Supporting our Parish Finance
Our parish functions with the continued generosity and financial support of our parishioners – through the Planned Family Giving, Donations and Maintenance Outdoor Collection.
The Parish Family Planned Giving is the most important source of income needed to run the parish, paying all the normal bills, heating, electricity, taxes, office, insurance, staff, supplies, repairs etc. As a new parishioner, if you are in a position to contribute to the Planned Family Giving we would be very grateful indeed.
