Young Parishioners
We warmly welcome children of all ages to join in our parish liturgies and activities.
Family Mass is celebrated monthly (on the second Saturday of every month) and all families are invited to attend. It is a lovely celebration which we hope will help children and parents to continue to grow in loving friendship with God. In particular we invite those preparing for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion to join us for Mass as this is an important part of their preparation for the Sacraments. The Family Mass celebration, homily and hymns are selected to suit our younger parishioners.
The Children’s Choir sings at the Family Mass and also at the Saturday evening 7pm mass every second week. The choir sings a mixture of age appropriate hymns and songs. The children also take an active part in the prayerful and child friendly Advent Carol Service and Nativity play in December and the Children’s Way of the Cross on Good Friday and enthusiastically lead the congregation in this beautiful liturgy.
Our Youth Cafe is a place for teenagers 13+ to meet up, chat and take part in fun activities once a month in a safe and friendly environment.
Our Children’s library is located inside the inner doors of the main church entrance.
Children are most welcome to take a book to read and enjoy when coming to the church for Mass or when visiting the church in their own time.
All our Children’s groups and activities are available as a result of the terrific work and time given by numerous volunteers in the parish.
